A QUICK GRASP OF THE MARINE CONCEPT FOR EXPLORING THE REAL ADVENTURES

The marine concept refers to the involvement in a marine system to execute the operations like boat launching, mooring, anchoring, boat handling, man overboard recovery, high-speed maneuvers, collision regulations and many more.

Marines are infantry forces that are specialized in providing support to the naval and army officers at sea, land or air. In several countries, the marines form an integral part of its Naval Forces. Basically, in countries having wide marine facilities, the concept and boat-driving help many people to receive a boating license and earn their livelihood.

Different marine concepts and training would provide all the facts and knowledge required to be a self-sufficient power boater and cruiser.

In order to provide a high standard of training, a maximum 3:1 student versus instructor ratio is followed. The different courses which are included in the training are given as follows:

Launching & Recovery:

Launching a powerboat is the first and foremost thing one should learn properly to be a good power boater. Besides, as a newbie, he/she must know how to use a trailer or launching trolley. The person must also be aware of the sea conditions while launching, including the hazards and obstructions. Concepts like beach launching, lee shores, trailer parking, etc. must be properly conceived by the student. How to take care of trailer bearings, hitch, lashings, lights, and winch must be learned through this course.

Securing to a buoy:

How to secure to a buoy so as to sustain the boat on the water is a skill, which every boater must possess. A good boater knows when and how to prepare for a mooring warp. By using a boat hook and making a fast approach, one can promptly secure to a buoy. Crew communication is one of the important parameters which needed to be well-established while securing to a buoy. Also, one should be well-versed with the procedure during overshooting.

Anchoring:

The process of anchoring a boat to the sea bay must be known by all power boaters and cruisers. The courses provide in-depth knowledge of the different types of anchor, preparation for an anchor and the method of approach in different conditions. While anchoring, the depth of water, holding ground and the scope required must also be kept in mind.

Leaving and Coming Alongside:

The method of approach, the speed, and angle of approach while riding in a tidal stream or current is taught in this course. How to prepare and use painter, lines & tenders and attach to the boat stowage underway must be properly learned by the students so as to be a good power boater.

Besides these concepts, there are various short courses on engine & drives, use of GPS onboard, Emergency actions like prevention of sinking, etc. A special course on STCW Basic Safety Training Course is also available for persons intending to operate Cruise ships and Superyachts.
